Internship Programme Management Guide

How to coordinate internship cohorts, workplaces, participant support, evidence and progression.

For Internship and workplace-learning teams | 8 minute read

The Workplace Is Part of Delivery

An internship does not become operationally complete when a participant starts. Employer ownership, workplace activity, support and feedback must remain visible throughout the placement.

Structure the Placement Record

Connect the participant, employer, role, supervisor, dates, objectives, support needs, activity evidence and expected progression in one governed record.

Identify Risk Early

Regular feedback and clear action ownership help teams respond to attendance, role fit, support or workplace issues before a placement breaks down.

Record Progression Beyond Completion

Completion, further learning, extended placement and employment should be recorded as distinct outcomes with appropriate evidence.
